Can you give us a brief introduction of yourself?

I am Divyakshi Kukshal from India. I have 5 years of work experience as a Korean language/cultural specialist in India and Korea. I started my career with Samsung Heavy Industries and worked in different sectors like manufacturing, automotive and government. I have a penchant for learning new languages and cultures and love participating in cultural events. I am a lover of multiculturalism and loves socializing.

我是来自印度的Divyakshi Kukshal，曾作为韩语/文化专家在印度和韩国有过五年的工作经历。我的职业生涯从三星重工起步，并曾在制造业、汽车业和政府部门工作过。作为一个多元文化的爱好者，我非常享受学习新的语言和文化，并且热衷于参加各种文化活动。

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point in your career, and why China?

Having worked as a Korean Language/cultural specialist for 5 years brought a point in my career where I needed a change in my roles and responsibilities and wanted to step up my career. To realize this, I needed an MBA that could give me a competitive edge in today’s competitive job market. Hence, I decided to pursue MBA from China that could not just give me an MBA degree but also familiarize me with Chinese language and culture. Since I already had a good knowledge about Korean business practices, I thought getting an additional knowledge about China would expand my knowledge about another Asian country which is also the second largest economy in the world and the third largest trade partner of my home country, India. 

作为韩语/文化专家的身份工作五年后，我发现自己需要一些职业角色的改变，以期在职场中获得更进一步的提升。在当前竞争激烈的就业市场中，为了实现这个目标，获得一个MBA学位所带来的优势无可比拟。

至于选择中国的原因——因为在这里，我能获得的不仅仅是一个MBA学位，更是一个熟悉中国语言和文化的宝贵机会。中国是世界第二大经济体，也是印度的第三大贸易伙伴，我已经对韩国的商业体系有深入的了解，是时候将知识面扩展到另一个亚洲国家了。

What was the key factor(s) that led you to determine on Guanghua instead of other school, and why was it so important to you?

As I mentioned, my expectation from my MBA journey was not just getting the degree but also getting linguistic and cultural knowledge, so it wasn’t a tough decision for me to select the MBA College in China. Peking University being one of the top universities that boasts the best academic and cultural experience in China was always my first choice for my MBA studies. 

正如我刚才所说，我希望我的MBA之旅获得的不仅是学位，更是语言和文化知识，所以对我来说选择中国的MBA学院是一个很自然的决定。北京大学是中国拥有最佳学术文化氛围的顶尖大学之一，自然是我攻读MBA的首选。

Which course/event/activity impressed you the most in your MBA studies so far?

Before the 1st semester began, we classmates knew nothing of each other. However, with the kind of support and enthusiasm we all had during our first event - The Guanghua MBA Welcoming Party impressed me the most. We hardly remembered each other’s names; all we knew was that we need to work together as a family for the next 2 years. The collaboration was fantastic and received huge appreciation from our Professors who noticed an exceptional teamwork and unity in our class as never seen before. 

第一学期开始之前，同学之间彼此都不认识。但是，我们参加的首场活动“光华MBA迎新晚会”给我留下了深刻印象，每个人都感受到了来自光华的帮助和热情。我们几乎没有记住彼此的名字，但都知道我们要在接下来的两年中成为一个家庭，共同学习。这次合作得到了教授们的极大赞赏，他们在我们的班集体中看到了一种超乎寻常的合作与团结精神。

What quality best describes your MBA classmates and why?

The collaborative culture of our class defines the quality of my MBA classmates. The environment here is less competitive and more collaborative and that makes MBA life less stressful and more fun. Meeting people from different nationalities and knowing them has been a great experience for me so far. 

合作。我们班同学之间的竞争并不那么激烈，合作的氛围更浓，这使得我攻读MBA的生活变得更加轻松、有趣。结识不同国籍的同学，与他们相互了解，对我来说是一次非常美好的体验。

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like studying about Chinese culture and learn Chinese characters. Also socializing is something I really enjoy. 

我喜欢学习中国文化和汉字，同时也爱社交。

How do you find life in Beijing, and how is it different from what you have imagined?

Life in Beijing is exactly the opposite of what I expected before coming to China. It’s quite multicultural and has a lot of fun activities for foreigners. I like the vibe this city has, it makes you jump out of your bed every morning and get things done! Exactly the kind of life I like.

北京的生活与我来中国之前的预期截然相反。多元文化在这里交融并存，外国人能够参加很多有趣的活动。我喜欢这座城市的氛围，它敦促你每天早晨都迫不及待地起床去完成自己的工作！这正是我喜欢的生活。

What was your defining moment and how did it shape who you are?

My defining moment was when I came to Guanghua for my MBA studies and realized my true potential. The classroom environment and the social events here made me realize my strengths and weaknesses. It also helped me identify my next career step and gave me a direction to step up my career.

我的决定性时刻是选择来到光华攻读MBA，并意识到了自己的真正潜力。这里的学习环境和社交活动帮助我发现了自己的优点和缺点，我也由此确定了自己今后的职业生涯和发展方向。

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

In the next 10 years, I see myself heading a strategy-based role for the Asian market in a multi-national company.
